Role Overview As a Junior Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital support role in our kitchen operations. You will work closely with the chefs to ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized, and efficient. This position focuses on hygiene, basic prep support, and maintaining the flow of service, offering a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals of professional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Sanitation Control: Manage the dishwashing station efficiently, ensuring all cookware, crockery, and cutlery are sanitized and stored correctly to keep up with service demands.
- Prep Support: Assist the line cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing produce, peeling vegetables, and organizing ingredients for daily service.
- Area Maintenance: Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift, strictly adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Stock Handling: Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing storerooms, and ensuring that supplies are accessible to the cooking team (following First-In, First-Out principles).
- Operational Support: Support the kitchen team during peak hours by fetching equipment or ingredients as needed to ensure smooth service.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Entry Level: No prior experience is strictly required, though a background in food service is a bonus. We are looking for the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to follow instructions precisely.
- Stamina: Capable of standing for long periods and lifting kitchen supplies or equipment.
